By now you already have an idea of the danger late night snacks can cause, and maybe, just maybe you‘ve found the courage and discipline to ditch the habit.
Yet you can’t help but notice those jeans getting tighter by the week. So, you’re in a dilemma, what the hell is going on?
Well, not to burst your bubble but late night snacks aren’t the only bad habits that pile extra weight to that gorgeous body of yours.
So what else does? Keep reading to find out.

1. Happy hour
We hate to break it to you but binge drinking is a very dear friend of extra calories, especially at night.
One way to this is the fact that alcohol activates the part of your brain that makes you hungry and because you’re in no best position to make the right choice – well, thanks to the alcohol itself- you end up eating anything that comes your way.
Sorry, but that’s an automatic added pound to your waistline
Bottom line is while alcohol itself may not add the extra calories, it impacts your decision of choosing the right meal, especially at night.

2. Wearing tight clothes to sleep
Well, who would’ve thought this was a big deal to gaining weight? Believe us, it is.
When you wear tight fitting clothes to bed, it disrupts your melatonin levels- aka the sleep hormone- preventing you from getting a good long night sleep. And by now you already know what lack of sleep does to your weight.
It’s time to embrace the habit of wearing loose fitting clothes. And if possible, wear nothing to bed. This allows free flow of blood, enhances natural body temperature and improves the performance of melatonin.

3. Sleeping immediately after dinner
If you’re confused as to why those extra pounds keep piling up despite your efforts in reducing them, try checking the interval between your dinner and bedtime.
The body burns more calories during the day and less at night. It doesn’t matter what you eat, hitting the bed immediately after a meal – especially if it’s a heavy one- will inarguably increase the number on the scale.
Eating early before bed time is a great way to give your body time to burn off – not necessarily all but part of -the calories you’ve consumed.
