Red wine is favourite cocktail of many, women usually prefer red wine to look and feel more sophisticated while some are wine connoisseurs . Red wine is perfect for dinner dates, friends/ family get together and many events . Some prefer red wine with snacks, some with dinner and some with everything but do you know what are the pros and cons of drinking wine . As the old saying, anything above the appropriate level is a poison no matter the amount of benefits it provides, it's hard to see any harmful effects if you drink Red wine in right proportions but above that can cause negative effects on your body. So let's get started

1. Pros of drinking red wine

You will see the benefits of red wine when you start taking it in right amount (if you are new to wine half glass of wine is best amount to start with ) .
•Red wine is rich in melatonin, resveratol, saponin and it is a good anti oxidant .
• prevents sleeping disorder.
• protection against Alzheimer's disease and dementia.
• Reduces risk of heart and cardiovascular diseases, good for heart health .
• Prevents lung, prostrate and breast cancer.
• Reduces LDL cholesterol and can protect against obesity and diabetes.
• Anti aging and can reduce harmful effects of UV rays.
• Almost all pros are due to resveratol found in red wine.
2. Cons of drinking red wine

Cons appear when you start taking red wine in excess or more than appropriate amount.
• increases blood pressure.
• alcohol is a carcinogen ( particularly for breast cancer ) .
• contains empty calories ( no nutritional value ) .
• decreases metabolism.
• disturbs REM cycle.
• aggravates PMS .
• has addictive qualities and causes migrane.
• causes liver damage.
