Short and Sweet Relaxation Activities

Women around the globe are getting more and more active in their careers and out-of-work activities. We are busier than ever! Our work do not only end after a nine-hour shift, but it continues as we engage to other ventures such as social works, charities or another part-time or full time work patterns. Despite the passion, we will all reach a point when we just want to take a break. You must be wondering, can I take a full break in a short amount of time? Can I recharge fully if I rest and relax just for a bit? The answer is “Yes!”

A walk in the park

If your busy schedule is already taking a toll on you, and you feel most rejuvenated outdoors, have a break in a park. This is a classic move, and it never gets old. Take some time to just walk as you feel the breeze touch your face and your hair. Breathe in some fresh air as you think of positive and self-building thoughts, “You are tired, but you will not stop. You are exhausted, but you will keep going. You are strong and empowered.”

Your Routine made Special

I can hear you saying that you still have no time for that walk, and you have more important errands to do than have that most awaited self-talk. Here’s what you can surely do. Immerse your relaxation activity to the daily routine that you do. For instance, make your meals extraordinary by cooking or ordering something special and setting up a candlelit table. Purchase items that will make you feel pampered as you do your daily routine of having a bath. Even walking to your home can be invigorating for you as you walk in a lavender, strawberry, rose, cherry-scented home because of some fragrant candles.

Dopamine rush while reconnecting with Friends

After you have meditated on your own, another way you can diminish stress is to connect more to the people around you or those you haven’t contacted for a long time. Send them a long-time-no-message message. As you progress in your conversation, you’ll feel calmer and happier. Scientifically, during these moments, your brain releases a feel good hormone called dopamine, and you are just sitting there typing messages on screen during your lunch break maybe.

Your work buddy for well-being

Your colleagues are also players to your ultimate goal of relaxing for a bit. It is actually better to have someone you can have a break with especially during work hours. One thing you should remember is to keep your work break with your buddy healthy. Cigarette breaks are highly discouraged. Take a different path on your lunch break. Pick a new menu or a new drink. Share a healthy fruit drink in the office pantry using an easy-to-use blender.

It is well-acknowledged that finding some self-time is not that easy especially with all the deadlines at work, responsibilities at home and other extra activities and gigs. On the contrary, you should also recognize that the more commitments you have, the higher the need to have some soothing time.

I am looking forward to how you did the short but sweet relaxation activities above! Let us know in the comments section or send us a message.
