Whether you're considering acrylic nails, or you're just brushing up on your nail shape knowledge, these are the most popular trends to try.
Coffin Nails

The style, which looks like an oval mani with a square tip, has won loads of fans due to its versatility and simplicity to re-create. Unless you opt for acrylics, this style demands that you grow your nails long. They'll need to be long enough that both sides can be filed into a tapered point (similar to a stiletto nail), and then the tip of the nail squared off.
Stiletto Nails

Stiletto nails are a form of manicure, with the addition of false nails on the tips. They resemble the shape of the stiletto, carefully cut on the sides and filed into a point so that the tips are the shape of a triangle, leaving the ends pointed. These nails are generally long and look fabulous once painted. They might look fierce but they're vulnerable and can be prone to breakage, especially on natural nails.
Almond Nails

The almond is one of the most popular nail shapes of the moment, and it’s easy to see why. The shape, which resembles the nut of the same name, is elegant, sophisticated and utterly stylish. As such, it’s no wonder why more and more women are choosing the silhouette for their fingers. Even if you have a narrow nail bed, they can become weak at the tips on natural nails so many people opt for acrylics with this style. From bright and bold patterns to chic and minimalistic shades, these nail art ideas will bring fashion to your fingertips.
Squoval Nails

Squoval nails are a combination of the square and oval shapes. They’re a modern and universally flattering shape with a flat, or square, top edge and slightly rounded corners. It’s easy to file your nails into a squoval shape at home using a 240-grit nail file for shaping and a 400-grit file for finishing. After they’re filed, you can add polish for a pop of color or leave them natural.
