While you’re often familiar with certain common habits that accelerate wrinkles such as stress, cigarette smoking and lack of sleep, there are other subtle but harmful ones you need to pay keen attention to if you don’t want to be the next victim of wrinkles- not so soon anyway.
1. Make Up
"But isn’t that what make ups are for? To cover lines and wrinkles?" You’re right, of course. However, as much as make ups can conceal blemishes well enough, using the wrong kinds often aggravates wrinkles, or make you even look older than you really are.

So, before you apply that makeup one more time, you might want to be sure it’s the right kind for you.
2. Not Using SPF While In Your Car
Well, who would've thought this was a factor for wrinkles? After all, ‘I’m not in the sun’. While that may be true, it doesn’t mean the sun isn’t having damaging effects on your face.
Being inside a car or any kind of vehicle doesn’t mean you’re unaffected by the sun. Left sided skin cancers is one of the commonest form of cancers in the United States. Whether or not you’re in your car, be sure to dab on just the right amount of SPF.

3. Staring At Computer Screen
Frequent use of the computer has been shown to contribute to fine lines and wrinkles. Has someone ever took a picture of you while seriously working on your computer? It usually looks like you’re frowning. Well, aren’t we all guilty of this? Oops, seems like we’re all gonna get those wrinkles after all.
But no, not as long as we learn to limit our exposure to the screen. WHO recommends taking a break every hour to allow for stretching, sitting upright and keeping the neck straight while working with the computer.
4. Chewing Gum
Yes, you read that right. Constant chewing of gum has been observed by dermatologist to weaken skin elasticity, resulting in fine lines around the face. Now would be a good time to say good bye to gum and switch to mints.

5. Sleeping On Your Side/Face
Your sleeping pattern might have more to do with those recently developed fine lines on your face than any other factor you may think.
Dr. Jaliman says, "The way you sleep does affect wrinkles -- that's why some lines are called sleep lines. It's best to sleep on your back, although most people find this difficult. One way to do this is to put a U-shaped bucky pillow around your neck and to prop yourself with other pillows all around you so you don't turn in your sleep”.

6. Tanning
Everyone loves the result from tanning. However, as admirable as it is, it’s by far one of the most terrible things for your skin. Experts say too much sunbathing won’t only cause sunburn but wrinkles, as well as premature aging.
The skin consists of collagen which is responsible for your youthful appearance. But unfortunately, can become damaged when exposed to excess sun which consequently results to accelerated aging process.
7. Drinking Alcohol
Excessive drinking of alcohol can exacerbate fine lines and cause wrinkles. But that doesn't mean you have to go through the pain of celibacy to avoid fine lines. Just be sure to reduce your alcohol intake. By doing that, your liver has less work in flushing out toxins from your body thereby giving it less stress, and you, better skin.
Finally, by all means apply sunscreen. Scientists have proven that regular use of sunscreen helps fight wrinkles, minimizes sunburn and reduces the risk of developing skin cancer.
