Mothers are the light of the home. That is how we are defined, and this is what we want to be. We want to be with our offspring to capture their first smile, their first step and their first words. We want to be their shoulder to cry on during their first heartbreaks, their confidant they can trust, and we want to be with them to celebrate their first successes. However, this is not the case all the time because of our loaded schedules. Worry not as I have provided here simple but fruitful and meaningful activities you can share with your child.

Games are for All Ages
Whether you have a young child, teenagers or older ones, having games together never gets old. For your young children, you can forget real life for a bit by playing pretend. Kids are natural actors, so to be at par to their acting level, wear the costume and makeup of the role you are playing. Be ready to learn the latest virtual games as these are the activities your teenagers would want. Being out those board games as they would still be appreciated by older kids. While you exert effort playing the games your children want, you can also introduce to them the games you played when you were young. Aside from having fun, they would also get a glimpse on how you were as a child.
Watch a Movie at Home or in the Cinemas
Whether you choose to watch a movie at home or in the cinemas would not matter as long as you are with your children. Make it a goal to do this twice a month. Your child gets to pick the first watch, then you get to choose the next time. The advantage of going to the cinemas is you can have some time to hold hands together as you glide happily going to the theatre. Home theatre is also good as together, you can cuddle under the blankets and wear you comfy mother and child socks while watching. What a sweet scene!

Do Crafts and Projects Together
If you are the type of parent who is nonstop in making herself productive, you can incorporate your mother and child bonding in your projects. Does your assignments include steps that are simple to do and can be done even by your youngest child? Then, grab this opportunity! While this is part of your work, make sure to make it as enjoyable as possible. Is there anything more amusing than play pretend while working? Tell your kids that they are elves in a factory and Mommy is the head wizard. They are to accomplish their tasks to get a golden chocolate egg. Teenagers and older kids are easier to “manage.” It is also more likely that they’ll be elated if you tell them they can join you in your project. Family bonding while fulfilling work duties in one. Perfect!
There are times that we get so busy with all other responsibilities, we barely have moments with our kids, but your most awaited mother and child bonding can be easily achieved through simple activities. You can even have it even at work. To be honest, anytime you are together is a perfect moment.
