Botox vs Fillers - Everything you need to know

May be you should go for fillers.....botox and fillers are very common words today, we get to know about them either by any celebrity or fashion insta . Every girl once in a while want to try botox or fillers to enhance her beauty but we have to know everything about them before trying it on our beautiful face. Let's see which one is for you and don't forget to see the side effects of them, though very rare of them are seen but we should know them before going under the needle.

1. Botox

Botox is designed to freeze facial muscles . It works on wrinkles that are caused by muscle movement . These are known as dynamic wrinkles or expression lines aka frown lines, crows feet and forehead lines .
Botox is a paralysis agent, it decreases the facial motion by paralyzing the muscles.
Best for : Removing fine lines, wrinkles, neck bands and dynamic wrinkles.
Effect last : For 4 - 6 months

Side effects
• On treatment - head ache or flu symptoms, some redness and swelling around in the treated area, slight bruising and tenderness around the points of injection, minor bleeding around injection sites, dizziness and nausea.
Though all the above issues are very annoying but they usually disappear shortly after the treatment.
• After treatment - Very less of them are seen as botox and fillers are least harmful if you go to a good specialist.
Side effects may be - Temporary dropping in the eye area, teary eyes or eye dryness, drooling or uneven mouth, muscle weakness, reduced or loss of bladder control.
Botox is not recommended if

You have a skin infection, you are pregnant or breastfeeding, you have muscular disease such as ALS, myasthenia gravis and Bell' s Palsy, you are corrently taking any medications, antibiotics or supplements, you have allergy to any of the injections in botox injections.
2. Fillers

Fillers are injectable gels comprises of hylayuronic acid . Dermal fillers sometimes called soft tissue fillers, are substances designed to be injected beneath the surface of the skin to add volume and fullness to volume loss in face . It enhances facial volume and shape.
They are used to plump cheeks and lips, decrease shadow or wrinkles under the eyes, and soften scars and wrinkles in lower face .
Best for : Increasing fullness offace by lifting up the skin. Ideal for static wrinkles like smile lines.
Effect last for : Few months to years .
Side effects : They are very rare but yes we shouldn't ignore them before going under the needle .

On treatment - Redness and itchiness, mild swelling, some bruising, slight pain and bleeding at injection sites, cold sores (if you are prone to them).
Luckily these side effects doesn't last for long, if they does consult a specialist. After treatment - Infection where fillers were injected, bumpy texture beneath the skin surface, scarring from skin damage migrated filler, which can require surgery to remove, breakouts that resembles acne, blindness caused when fillers inhibits blood flow to the eyes .
Fillers are not recommended if

You are pregnant or breastfeeding, if you have swollen or damaged skin, if you have disorders which affects blood clotting, you are particularly susceptible to scarring, if you have history of seizures.
